Desparately seeking help in internet security..

Recently, my organisation server was hacked. And I was tasked to review and develop a policy to be put in place to secure our servers from hackers. The irony is I am not even in the Network group. I have little knowledge about security. Can anyone here help me how to approach this and which web site can guide me along.
