Is there a ‘good’ way to layoff staff?

Most everyone has suffered through a layoff in the past several year, unfortunately, and likely have some tips and feedback for CIOS on what to do and not do when a staff reduction takes place. TechRepublic wants input on ‘good’ and ‘bad’ strategiesused and seeking tips/advice/insight from IT professionals on the proper process/approach for the CIO and IT leader. We’re interested in ‘horror’ stories, and those rare ‘good’ stories about how layoffs have been handled in the past few years. Thanks!
