Issue joining a pc to a Domain over VPN

I’m trying to join a PC to a Domain over VPN, Im joing it off site and The VPN connects fine. But when I try and join the laptop to the domain I get an error:

” Name Translation: Could not find the name or insufficient right to see name”

I am using the Administrator account so it should have the privledges. We dont really have any group policies in Active Directory either. So any help on this would be great
