IT Debate: What did 2000 mean for ERP?

by debate . Updated 25 years, 3 months ago

Did ERP in 2000 warm you up or leave you cold? According to Gartner, it was a little bit of both. While e-business received a lot of the year’s hype, organizations realized that a practical ERP plan was still vital. But ERP in 2000 also left a lot of users disillusioned and a lot of vendors with less of a bottom line.

What do you think were ERP’s highs and lows during 2000? Do you think ERP will survive? How do you think consolidations in the market will lead to better products and services? What do you think about the potential of ERP II? How can ERP change the momentum? Is there any way it can prove its importance to the enterprise after years of negative press?
