Wayne, if you want a life, and I really don’t give a hoot, then go to the Feds with a complaint that you are being harrassed by your superior. Of course you’ll have to give specifics, such as when, where, etc. and hopefully get co-workers, not that idiot, to sign on with you. And in the meantime, leave that company after you have found another job. Since I presume you have a degree, if it’s BS upgrade to an MS in your specific area and an additional MBA. If you’re in Silly Valley, thers’s more than enough work to go around. Post your resume on Monster. Take a single sick day, and/or personal day if that’s allowed (kid sick, need to have specific things that must be done during the week such as banking, whatever) once a month and apply, with resume in hand with reason to look for another job and hit a couople of companies a day. Consider consulting, working as a VAR, lots of things such as that allow you to work out of your home. If all else fails, work at McDonalds, Carl’s Junior, whereever, use savings and 401(k) money to make up for the difference, sell that company’s stock and get the heck out of there. If you happen to be too timid, I know a ton of IT workers are, stay there and be harrassed. This is of course your choice. But I took off for that wild blue yonder, work now as a VAR and programmer from home, make more money and have a life. Be bold, do something that will allow you to do what you think is best, not only for you, but your family.
