Job Search Quandry: Contracing Vs. Full

Hi All,

I’m in a technology-rich area of the country. I’m also considering putting myself back on the market (having studied the summer to get my MCSE and CCNA certs).

There’s a good chance that I will move away from the area in the next year(family reasons). Should I keep that fact to myself and go for a full-time permanent position, or take a year as a contract consultant through a placement company? What the Pros and Cons of each? My wife is worried that I’d end up on ‘the bench’ but I don’t see that happening here.
