Keyboard not working when trying to press key to boot by CD…!

Hi,

im trying to install windows XP on a PC and hit hard on this problem.
Basically, my keyboard does not functions just before i get this message: PRESS ANY KEY TO BOOT FROM CD…

the keyboard is a PS/2 and works in the bios and all.It works fine before that message.
I need to know if this is a problem( if so whats the solutions) or if this is a problem with a setting in the bios that hasnt been setup properly ( if so what’s the setting)

I changed the PS/2 with a USB keyboard, tried a PS2 to USB converter
