Keyboard only works in safe mode or when holding down key for 1-2 seconds

I have a Thinkpad T60 and starting this afternoon the keyboard on the laptop stopped working. The mousepad on the laptop works fine, and so do any of the Fn keys. I thought it wasn’t working at all, but then realized it does work in perfectly fine safe mode and also will type a key if I hold it down for a second or two. Any ideas on what could be the problem? I have already tried reinstalling the keyboard drivers.
