Keyboard typing 2 letters at once.

I was given a company laptop today and learned that the keyboard has a problem. Any time I type the following letters, this is what appears:

w= we or ew
e= ew or we
s= sd or ds
d= ds or sd
x= xc or cx
c= cx or xc
2= 23 or 32
3= 32 or 23

Any ideas on why this is happening? The computer is a Dell Inspiron 1200.
