laptop data card, can it be used with my desktop computer

I have a kyocera passport data card for my laptop (1xEVDO PC CARD) and I just moved into a very rural area an was wondering if there is a way to use that data card in conjunction with my desktop computer. Is there a way to get it connected to the desktop computer?
