Laptop screens

Hi. I have a compaq laptop with windows xp home. I have recently carried out a clean install and everything is working fine except for the screen. as you scroll down the page, it starts to wobble like a wave visually. A bit like it had a big night on the town. If anyone has suggestions on this problem it would be greatly appreciated.
