What do you do about a person on your project who consistently does not do their part. Everybody in the organization knows this about this person, but due to his specific role, I have to have him as a player. I just need him to do his part. Everything is an excuse, a dodge. I’ve tried about everything I know to do. His manager is a team player with us as well, so I don’t think it’s a problem where his manager is pulling him away.. I’m not seeking to do anybody any harm, I just want the project to look good, and one person can bring about the failure of a project. As a project manager – I want to make sure I do my part. Others keep telling me it’s not my problem, but I’ve taken on the responsibility of managing the problem, so I’m figuring there’ll be egg on me if it doesn’t turn out ok..
