Leading remote teams virtually

by mentor-one . Updated 23 years, 6 months ago

For over 20 years now our consulting firm has collaborated virtually with clients across the country and across the world. After becoming disabled and unable to work away from my home, I restructured my practice into an Internet/Intranet based virtual consulting firm. At present we are working with several Internet based collaborative technologies, namely Groove, Mangomind and Intranets to enhance colaboration. As to hardware, we opted for fast throughput of voice and data first and are now working on the vidio aspect. We use cable and sat connections for acceptable throughput and currently are using single gif/jpg video images instead of streaming to ease the effects of clients with low bandwidths or poor last mile gear.

All in all wedeliver a multiplicity of IT, business and government consultive services quite efficiently over the net. As far as privacy and confidentiality is concerned we use VPN encripted pipes and encripted on line short interval storage to work on and deliver work product.
