Linux 7.1 hangs.. repeatedly

by tsrl . Updated 24 years, 5 months ago

after loading 7.1 prof in the system with 810e mbd pIII 700 256 Mb ram..system hangs while starting startx.. while it was ok wiyh 7.0..twice I’ve reloaded after formatting the hdd. can some one thro any light on this.

also realtek 8139 NIC ives intermittent problem in 7.1 in another pc. NIC is ok works perfectly in 7.0. error mess failed to initialize eth0. Even recompiling of kernel fails to solve the problem. Are there bugs in 7.1 kernel???if so then what’s the alternative to remove the bugs..
