linux and PPPoATM

I have installed SUSE 8.2, it has found all the componants and peripherals. I have tried to connect. The protocol I use is PPPoATM., it attempts to connect but fails.
When I check the log it says:
Suse Meta pppd (smppd – ifcfg).Version 1.00 on linux
We are disconnected.
connect to smpppd
we are disconnected.
interface is etho
we are connecting.
pppd: PPPoATM.so loaded
pppd: plugin passwordfd. so loaded
we are disconnected.
pppd died: pppd options error (exit code 2)

Help!
