Linux Directories????

Hi,

I am going to install linux for the 1st time on my desktop pc. I am going to multiboot with Win2K and WinXP Pro. Should I install linux 1st? How big of a partition do i need (Im installing mandrake linux) How do I bring up a directory in linux once it’s installed. Do I use the “ls” of “ff” Cmd?? Any help is appreciated.
