Linux help for a Windows guy…

I’ve recently started working for a university research department as their windows guy, their entire network is pretty much on *nix.

The day to day commands is easy enough, but I’m looking for something that will help me understand the orginization of a *nix networ.

Something like What’s the *nix version of a domain?
