LInux LDAP Server

I have noticed that the Mandrake Installation that I am using allows for an LDAP server to be used for authentication. Has anyone set this up to use Windows 2000 Active Directory. I am looking at using Squid and I was wondering if I could access thethe Windows 2000 Active directory with Squid to control Internet Access.
