Linux Mandrake 7.0 install lockup

I have Linux Mandrake 7.0 which I have been trying to install. After choosing where the install is (CD-ROM) it just sits at initializing cd-rom and goes no further.
I have tried 2 different computers with 2 different cd-roms with the same problems.
I am just beginning to experiment with Linux so this is all to me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
