Linux Screen Capture

I’ve been playing with Linux at home, specifically Fedora Core 5, DSL and Mandriva. There is one simple item that has been causing me some trouble. How can I capture a screen? In Windows it’s simply a matter of hitting ‘Print Screen’ and then pasting the image somewhere. Unfortunately, I haven’t gotten this to work in Linux. Help!
