Linux to Windows DNS Resolution

Hi

I have recently add the linux server with squid and used maily for browsing. my users authonticated thru windows 2000 stnd. server (DNS Venus12.com) with ADS configured.

My clients hav the prefered DNS settings of (Windows 2K Server’s DNS ‘venus12.com’) ADS to which they can See all the local machines by names.

Now after adding linx wana use prefered DNS of Linux for name resolution of the external machines like ‘yahoo.com’, but the problem is when i set the prefred DNS of linx all the client can not see the local domain’s (venus12.com) ADS users on the LAN but can successfully ping (See) ‘yahoo.com’ by name?
