Local area network

I set a wireless network where i fed laptop and one desktop from my router.
For 6 moonths all went well, now the laptop does not respond, the logo on the task bar is blacked out and the bubble when highlighted says ‘railink wireless LAN Card Not Exist’.
Could some one explain to me whats gone wrong….please.
