Local Drive Paths Show in IE

Local Drive Paths in IE
How can I stop having my local drive paths show up in the history bar of IE? I’m running Windows XP Home Edition, and other than deleting the history files, many of my local drive folders show up in the IE after I access them whether I’m on-line or not. I was given some command line switches but when I run those I don’t have any history in IE. I just want to have the local drives and folders not show. Any help?
