Lock ups and freezes with 2k server…

I’ve got a very strange server issue?

I have a new dual Xeon server running 2000 server which has been running smoothly since its inception. I’ve realized that everytime I attempt to remove a program and/or open a folder, it hangs up and will not respond. Even if I stop to stop a service, it times out and freezes as stopping and won’t clear until I reboot. I have 1 gig of DDR so I would think that insuffient memory isn’t the cause.

-I’ve run virus scans
-I’ve rebooted
-I’ve checkedthe event viewer with nothing found
-I’ve checked the microsoft KB, with no results.

I’m about to reinstall sp3, which has been on the machine since it was built.

Any thoughts?
