We instituted an NT security policy here that automatically turns on people’s screen savers and locks the machine after 5 minutes of inactivity. It also removes the Screen Savers tab from their desktop properties, so they can’t undo that (even though it would be reset each time they logged back in to the network).
Since we did that, many of them are complaining that their computers will not shut down. They choose shutdown at the end of the day, and the screens dim as if they’re in the shutdown process, but then nothing happens. They stay that way, until someone hits the escape key. At that point, they pop up the logon screen, showing that they’re locked. After that, a normal shutdown can proceed, if it’s chosen again.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks, in advance.
