Logon script for W98 and XP different?

I have a NT4 server and mostly W98 clients logging in with a simple logon script. Now I want some new workstations with NT4 and XP installed to login to the network. On these machines the logon script doesn’t work, mappings are not made. What must be done to make these WS login correct?
