Loss of linkages in TechRepublic emails

I have rearranged my hard drive to free up the c: drive by moving a fair swag of documents (no system files) to my d: partition.

I have also upgraded from Firefox 1.5 to 2.0.

I have no problems apart from an inability to now access linked papers, blogs etc from TechRepublic and Cnet emails. I suspect it may be lost registered file types.

Any ideas.
