Machine gets hanged up when mcafee is installed

Hi,
I have a dell latitude laptop which has Windows XP SP2…I have connected it to domain and when i install mcafee 8.0i antivirus (lincesed) the machine gets hanged up and screen gets blank that is only the wallpaper is there and none other things is there…I uninstalled the mcafee antivirus and when i make the system to boot it works fine…If i install mcafee it gives the problem i told in the above..So please give me u r suggestions as soon as possible..
