Macro after a mail merge (Microsoft Word)

I have created a document for a mail merge and what results is 1 for yes criteria and a 0 for none criteria. What I’d like to do is have the 1 appear as a check mark. But I can’t seem to do it with the merge fields so I figured I can make a macro after the fact. Is that possible?
