Mail Server

We want to bring email in-house, so we are working w/ a the local Telco for ISP service. we created a test lab using DSL service with a static IP (we’ll increase bandwidth later). The Telco will place our MX record on their DNS server(s), but there is confusion between them and the firewall vendor on how to setup the DMZ, the INT IPs vs. the ue of the static IP (on DMZ or on Mail server), the MX definition, etc. We used these vendors to assist since this is new to us, but “Tired Head” is setting due to all of the banter. If anyone has some advice on what our DMZ should look like and what the Telco should use for the MX record please respond. I’ve talked to some other people who went throught the same nightmare a few years back for a client, but they didn’t document what they did.
