I’m currently looking at a problem where the mapped drives in our Win NT 4 Server/Workstation keeps dropping out. The situation is this. When a user logs onto the PC and starts working on it and leaves it alone for a while and comes back to find that they can no longer access some or all of thier mapped drives. This has occured even though they have not done anything on their PC during all this time. The only way to get the mapped drives back is to re-log back on or restart thier PCs.
They currently have a logon script that diconnects and reconnects their mapped drives each time they log on.
I’ve tried using the NET USE command with the :persistant option but with no luck.
The set up is as follows. The PDC is in one country and there are about 1/2 a dozen BDCs in other countries/states.
