Maximize windows

I have just recently update to IE 5.5 and now when I open a html file or new web page it comes up as a 1/2 inch wide x 2 inch long window bar(minimized) that I sometimes can’t find and before I know it I have 10 windows going all at once. I have been to the display and folders setting and still to no avail.I would like when I open a html or web page for it to be maximized.This also happends when going from a link from e-mail it opens minimized. Any help will be appreciated
