Me, myself & I

by cathy.e.arbogash . Updated 18 years, 2 months ago

Does anyone else have a problem with the erroneous use of the word “myself”. I can’t even begin to say how often I receive emails or sit in on meetings where the writer or speaker writes/says:
“If you have any questions, please feel free to call myself”.
or
“Myself and the VP of sales are going to Paris”
or ….just today I received the following:
“During today’s efforts we were able to package 32 boxes and myself and a few volunteers will complete the paperwork for shipping over the next day.”
Did “they” really package “herself and a few volunteers”? I know, I get it, having finished the sentence, but it is so grammically WRONG that I can no longer stand it. These are professionals who represent high levels (all levels for that matter) of our company.

Any suggestions for how to quell this horrible daily blunder?!
