Media Player (CD Player)

Good day all:

The manager of the Graphics department insists that when she plays a cd via her laptop, at the end of all songs, the Cd Player buttons ‘grey out’ and the system does not allow her to smoothly eject the cd, replace with another and begin playing; rather, she has to close the CD Player, access Accessories, Multimedia and then CD PLayer again.
How would you troubleshoot this?
