MEDIA PLAYERS AREN’T READING MY DVDs (SONY CDRW/DVD CRX830E)

by puchito_de_kaka_777 . Updated 18 years, 10 months ago

I have a SONY CDRW/DVD CRX830E CD/DVD-rom drive in a DELL Inspiron 6000 laptop. This was standard with the laptop.

For the second time now (1st was a couple of months ago?), it has stopped playing my DVDs yet, it will play music/game CDs. When a DVD is inserted, it spins for a second then stops. The media players say there isn’t a disc in the drive.

The first time it occurred, it seemed to fix itself automatically a couple of weeks later as, I was able to play DVDs again.

I look forward to a response and resolve on this issue.

Thanks very much.

PS. I am not IT savvy. Please help me resolve this with clear simple instructions. Much appreciated.
