Member offers tips for deleting Word hyp

I have a peer to peer network at my office that handle the print loads.
my problem is the computer running on winme cannot access none of the files on the computer running win 2000 although I share main drive on the win 2000 computer.
If I try to access any files on the win 2000 from the winme it ask me for a password and none of the administrator password works.
moreover the win 2000 computer name has a $ sign attatched to it in the password name box and I dont know to get rid of it no matter how I try.
Please what Could I be doing wrong?
