Message containing large attachment hanging in outbox

A message containing a large attachment (pictures-16MB)is stuck in the user’s outbox. It has been there for well over 24 hours now. Cannot delete or open item. “Outlook has already begun transmitting message.” Tried work offline, still get same error message when attempting to open, move or delete message. Any ideas? Thank you!
