That was the headline from slashdot which then leads to a WashingPost story.

The research group, based at the company’s Redmond, Wash. headquarters, is developing a program that classifies news stories according to whether liberal or conservative bloggers are linking to them.

And here is microsofts site for the research.

Truthfully, I think I would like something like this… Not because of I consider myself a cenerist conservitive.. In other words, im not far left or far right… But I think I would like knowing the hot topics of both the far left and the far right… Hopefully, this would also have blogs of people that hold my feelings also… Wonder if I could add it to my treasure of news links on my google home page.

Again, I think I would like this… Think about it.. Most blogs contain links that lead to other sources on the subject… I don’t follow blogs, I follow news sites… This might be a way for someone like me to be able to start watching hot blogs also… And know what their political leanings are.
