Microsoft visual C 2005 installation on windows 7

I am using W7 RTM.
I have tried to install soundforge 9.0e, it gives the message while installing as;

“MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ 2005 REDISTRIBUTABLE INSTALLATION
The feature you trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
clicl OK to try again, or entre alternate path to a folder containing installation package ‘vcredist.msi’ in the box below.”

I have extracted the ‘vcredist.msi’ from ‘vcredist_x86.exe’ and given the path of that to the box, but its says that it is not a valid package of MSV C++ 2005 redist.Try to find the folder containing valid package of MSV C++ 2005 redist.

So, what is the problem? And how can it be solved?
I have also sync. it with XP Service pack 2 via compitibility option but not succeed.
