Migrating to Win 2000 from NT4

Hi,
I am looking at migrating to Win 2000, and am curious if anyone has experienced any problems doing this. The recommended route seems to be to upgrade the PDC, then BDCs, then other servers and finally clients.
I’m wondering what the effects might be, if I upgrade the clients first. The reason for this is that I am replacing a number of machines shortly and it would be nice to have them preinstalled with Win 2000.
Any advice?
