MIS Job Hunting

I am currently a student, and will be graduating with a degree in MIS in May 2004. With the current state of the job market, what can I do to set myself apart from other job applicants? I will not graduate with the best GPA, but i know that I havea solid knowledge base and a deep desire to learn more about all aspects of IT. Is there specific experience I can try and gain to add value to “me”? Are there any specific skills that are “hot” right now that could set me apart from other applicants?
