At some point I noticed that, when I try to uninstall programs (a great variety of programs, from simple shareware to high-end products) I started getting a “Setup is unable to find _Setup.dll, which is needed to complete the installation. Error 103.” message.
It first came up when I tried uninstalling a simple shareware program, and I thought, “Oh, maybe the programmers overlooked this little uninstall error.” But then it started happening more and more, and now almost every program I try touninstall, even high-end programs, I get the exact same message.
I have a second machine (set up with Windows 98, like my current one). I tried to search this computer for the elusive _SETUP.DLL file that somehow got erased from my machine. But I could not find it on this computer either–even though this machine had no trouble uninstalling one of the very same programs.
Does anybody know what might cause this _SETUP.DLL message, and more importantly, how I can remedy it? At the moment I have a lot of little pr
