Modem and Internet

Hi
i cannot connect to the internet using my computer running Linux RH 8. It does not probe my modem. I have tried changing the port too but it’s the same. How can i manually configure my modem. I’m a newbie in linux. I have CREATIVE MODEM BLASTERV.90 and it’s running fine on Windows (2003 .net server,XP,2000 Server,2000 Pro) but it’s not detected in Linux.. HELP!!!!!!!
