modem config problem

by victorjulietpapa . Updated 23 years, 1 month ago

I have an internal PCI modem mased on the Motorola SM65PCI chip and manufactured by manufactured by ‘D-link’. It works fine with Win98 & Win2K but I have problems configuring it for RedHat Linux 7.3. I need some help on how to configure it. It is detected by Linux as a communications controller. As it is a PCI device (Location : PCI bus 0; Device 9; function 0) i have included the output of ‘lspci’ utility. I hope it is of some help.

Output of ‘lspci -v’ :

00:09.0 Communication controller: Analog Devices SM56 PCI modem
Subsystem: Analog Devices SM56 PCI modem
Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 64, IRQ 12
Memory at e6800000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=256]
Capabilities: [dc] Power Management version 2

Output of ‘lspci -vv’ :

00:09.0 Communication controller: Analog Devices SM56 PCI modem
Subsystem: Analog Devices SM56 PCI modem
Control: I/O- Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B-
Status: Cap+ 66Mhz- UDF- FastB2B+ ParErr- DEVSEL=medium >TAbort- SERR-
