Modem Detection in Red Hat Linux 8.0

Recently, I have installed Red Hat Linux 8.0 on my PC, but Linux is not detecting my fax modem, the message comes that no modem is installed on your system, whereas, I have PCI modem already installed on my PC, I have also Windows XP installed on mysame PC, and XP is using the same modem. Please guide me what is the problem how can we detect the modem in Red hat Linux 8.0, I tried my best but could not resolve the problem.
