Monitor Not switching ON after booting

Hi, I am facing strange problem with my samsung 17′ inch syncmaster montior all of a sudden. Whenever i switch my computer on the monitor doesnt switch on, it switches on only after pressing the monitor button(on/off) many times. Sometimes it switches on after pressing it 2 times, sometimes it takes 10 times.It happens even if i turn off the monitor & try to turn it On after sometime. I checked by connecting my monitor to different machine, but the same problem occured. What might be the problem?? Please help.
