motherboard and cpu died

My motherboard and cpu are dead, so I replaced it with a new motherboard and cpu, now of course the pc will not start up, becuase all the old drivers are still on it, I have a external harddrive case where I can put the harddrive in and conect it to my laptop. Is there a way to delete the old drivers like that and if so how do I do it?
