mouse keyboard not working in xserver in linux8.0

hi all
I have Red hat linux 8.0 system when i boot the system i can use my keyboard and move mouse in single user mode and multiuser mode(text) but when i start xserver (graphical) my mouse and keyboard goes hang and doesnt respond. help me out
