Mp 4 file

I have onmy computer a mp 4 file with a movie. I couldn’t play it at all before I downloaded iTunes with QuickPlayer. Now I can see it on my laptop, by opening the file with iTunes or even with DivxPlayer. But I have another problem. I want to play this file on my Phillips Home Cinema by burning it on a cd/dvd, but my home cinema says that the disc has an error. I tried to burn the file on my cd with divxplayer and even with iTunes, but my home cinema says the same thing that the cd has an error. What can I do? I want to see this movie on my tv, not only on my laptop. It is possible if my home cinema doesn’t have mp4 player, but only mp3 player, that’s the cause of the problem? help…
