MS Media Player 7.x, Option handling?

How is your organization handling MS Media Player v 7.x Per User Option of: ?allow Internet sites to uniquely identify your player; and, Attempt to automatically acquire licenses?

I have removed and banned the program from our computers. Is there a better option?
